NewsSpecial Ward Parkway Homes Association Membership Meeting to Discuss the New Google Project in Kansas City Google has told the city of Kansas City that it will look at areas of the city where the residents are enthusiastic and want the service. This will be part of the criteria used for making choices for which areas of Kansas City initially get the service. Through the “Give Us a Gig” campaign, the Social Media Club of Kansas City is giving major assistance to neighborhoods to help with attracting the Google service to their areas. Google has indicated that they plan to start their service in areas where there is wanted. Many questions remain. Plan to attend the Ward Parkway Homes Association special meeting on 2/7. A representative from the Social Medial Club will be present to give more information about the real possibility that Google high speed service will be available very soon in the Ward Parkway Homes Association. In “How the Stories Came to the World”, “Tiger Becomes a Riding Horse”, The Magic of Five” and “Dinner for Two”, Anansi the Spider offers universal lessons of wit and cleverness. The show will include traditional African and Caribbean stories adapted by Paul Mesner and live music by drummer Patrick Conway. Neighborhood Scam The past few days, a smooth talking young man who claimed to be a student at Rockhurst was walking the neighborhood to fund his trip to Barcelona and send books to Children’s Mercy. This is a scam. He claimed to be from the neighborhood and was heavy on details but is actually from Los Angeles. If you made a donation, we recommend that you call the police and have a stop payment put on any checks. He was arrested by the KCPD at about 1:30pm, but these people travel in groups. Call the police immediately if you have one of these folks come to your door. Spread the word. |
